Job Description
Summary: The Trusts & Estates Attorney must have at least five (5) years of recent experience designing plans for moderate and high-net-worth clients, as well as experience in probate and trust administration. The Trusts & Estates Attorney position requires superior analytical, communication, drafting, writing, and research skills, with the ability to work both independently and as a team member. This position requires that the Trusts & Estates Attorney be extremely detail-oriented, organized, critical about accuracy, spelling and grammar and possess the ability to prioritize and follow up. This is a very fast paced environment which requires a self-starter who is willing and open to learning new skills as well as taking initiative and being proactive.

Remote Options/Office Hours: Hybrid or On-Site - Downtown Chico, CA
Essential Duties and Responsibilities, Including but Not Limited To: - Design and draft plans for moderate and high-net-worth clients
- Manage probate administrations
- Manage trust administrations
- Meet or exceed minimum billable hours requirement
- Plan for blended families, generation-skipping transfer tax planning, fiduciary income tax issues, and preparation of estate tax returns and gift tax returns
Requirements: Education and Experience - Juris Doctorate and active member of California State Bar
- Expertise in Federal tax law and California state tax law strongly preferred
- LL.M. in Tax preferred
- Prior experience taking the lead role in client meetings
- Prior experience managing client communications and expectations
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities - Proficiency in the California probate and trust administration process
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, document management and legal practice management systems
- Ability to effectively work with support staff
- Client management skills from intake through resolution
- Positive attitude, intellectually curious, dependable and motivated
- Solid command of English including excellent spelling, grammar, punctuation, form and style
- Organized and detail oriented
- Ability to set goals and mentor others
- Ability to communicate clearly and work well with a team and individually.
