Our well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join our dynamic team. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse and challenging cases. The ideal candidate will have an impressive background in white collar, criminal defense, healthcare, Title IX litigation, student discipline, vehicular crimes, complex civil litigation, and anti-corruption. The Associate Attorney will work closely with our team of seasoned attorneys to provide exceptional legal services to our clients.
Responsibilities:
As an Associate Attorney, you will be expected to:
1. Represent clients in court or before government agencies, presenting evidence to defend clients or prosecute defendants in criminal or civil litigation.
2. Select jurors, argue motions, meet with judges, and question witnesses during the course of a trial.
3. Study and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
4. Present and summarize cases to judges and juries.
5. Prepare legal briefs and opinions, and file appeals in state and federal courts of appeal.
6. Analyze the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents.
7. Examine legal data to determine advisability of defending or prosecuting lawsuits.
8. Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.
9. Advise clients concerning business transactions, claim liability, advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits, or legal rights and obligations.
10. Gather evidence to formulate defense or to initiate legal actions, by such means as interviewing clients and witnesses to ascertain the facts of a case.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the State Bar.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Associate Attorney.
4. Proven experience in white collar, criminal defense, healthcare, Title IX litigation, student discipline, vehicular crimes, complex civil litigation, and anti-corruption.
5. Excellent negotiation, advocacy, and problem-solving skills.
6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, judges, and opposing counsel.
7. Proficient in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
8. Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and cases effectively and efficiently.
9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to resolving issues and challenges.
10. High ethical standards and professional integrity.
